Generative AI has become an invaluable tool for educators, offering a range of benefits to enhance the teaching and learning experience. While writing this article, I wish that AI cannot or should not replace soft skills such as Critical Thinking, Creativity and Emotional Intelligence.
In addition, AI can summarise lengthy articles or texts, allowing learners to quickly grasp the main ideas without getting overwhelmed by excessive information. This saves time and helps learners focus on key concepts and information.
Personalised feedback is another area where generative AI is useful. By analysing assignments (do not confine to assessing written work, conduct a discussion to analyse learners' understanding), AI tools can provide educators with insights and identify areas for improvement, enabling them to offer targeted feedback to learners. This personalised approach helps learners understand their strengths and weaknesses, fostering growth and progress.
Interactive language learning exercises are made possible with generative AI. Educators can create engaging activities such as fill-in-the-blank or multiple-choice questions that enhance language proficiency and make learning enjoyable.
When it comes to complex concepts, generative AI can generate examples or explanations that simplify the material, making it easier for learners to understand and grasp new information. By providing clear and concise explanations, AI aids in knowledge retention and comprehension.
